Joy C. Hooter, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA

Dr. Hooter is a licensed clinical audiologist, providing services within our ENT practice.  She is originally from Central Texas and completed her undergraduate at Baylor University.  Following graduation, she began her doctoral program in audiology at the University of Washington in Seattle.  She completed her fellowship in clinical audiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire prior to beginning her journey with Hillcrest ENT in 2016.  She specializes in adult and child behavioral hearing evaluations, whether related to noise exposure, ear disease or hearing loss due to age.  She also performs electrophysiological hearing evaluations (ABR) and evaluation/fittings for custom hearing protection for use in noise and ear plugs designed for sleep or swimming.   Dr. Hooter has a passion for educating the community on hearing loss prevention and intervention, as well as teaching advocacy and listening strategies for those with hearing impairment. 

Dr. Hooter is Board Certified in Audiology by the American Board of Audiology, as well as a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a fellow of the American and Texas Academies of Audiology.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
